If you’ve been following this blog this year, you know about my many, many rejections.

Today is about acceptance. I am honored to announce that Finishing Line Press will publish my debut book of poetry next November.

I started poems in the collection in 2011, compiled some of those poems into a thesis/manuscript in 2014. The book itself, not considering when individual poems were started, has been in the revision process for eight years.

The title of the book is Traveling Mercy. As a farewell, we say “traveling mercies” as a prayer for a safe trip or journey. I’m thankful that this book’s journey to publication has ended and that it will begin a new journey as a published book that will be on shelves and in your hands.

I can’t wait for you to read it.
