Those who follow this blog know well my experience with rejection. It’s a long and storied one. Rejection and revision are not sexy. The despair, the doubt, the decision to continue despite it all…

But here we are: Traveling Mercy‘s publication date was November 23, 2023.

You can now hold it in your hands. You can come with me to Bluefield to listen to Ms. Goldie, Ms. G, and Ms. Blanche tell their stories. You can time travel with me through history on a ferry boat crossing Lynches River in Johnsonville or to the Kingstree Courthouse where my parents were married. You will travel with me even through the grief of losing my parents and what it means to be a Black woman living in the rural American South.

Traveling Mercy is available for purchase through the small, independent Finishing Line Press. You can also order it on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Help me spread the word about this book. Ask your local libraries and bookstores to stock it.

And hopefully, one day soon, I will travel to a city near you to share some poems.
